Ivano-Frankivsk starts cooperation with Finland within the UFAIR project

Ivano-Frankivsk has taken an important step towards improving its environmental situation—the city has joined the international UFAIR project, UFAIR, which aims to control and enhance air quality. Representatives of the city council discussed this initiative, technical aspects of air monitoring in the city, and the possibilities of rapid response with Harri Kalevi Pietarila, an expert from the Finnish Metrological Institute. 

Thanks to the cooperation with Finland, the city will have a modern monitoring stationby the end of the year, which will allow for a more accurate assessment of the environment. A working group is determining the best location for the stationand the final decision will be made soon.

Currently, Ivano-Frankivsk monitors only 4 air quality indicatorsbut the new station will analyze as many as 16 parametersThis will allow the detection of even minor pollution and the response to it quickly. 

Thanks to the project, Ivano-Frankivsk will receive the latest air monitoring technologies used in European countries. This will help improve the city's environmental safety and meet international standards. The project will also train expertswho can quickly assess the level of pollution and implement effective measures to reduce it.

The project UFAIR is a long-term initiative that will last four years and cover four regions of UkraineIt will improve the environmental situation in the region and foster international partnerships.
