Ivano-Frankivsk Region has an extensive network of territories and sites of the Nature Reserve Fund, representing different categories and levels of significance. This network includes national nature parks, regional landscape parks, nature reserves, natural monuments, protected tracts, parks-monuments of landscape art, and other nature conservation areas.
Information about these sites can be found in official documents, open datasets, environmental passports, regional reports, cadastral materials, and scientific and reference sources. At the same time, these data are often scattered across different sources, presented in different formats, and are not always convenient for quick search, educational use, or explaining the significance of a specific site for a local community.
That is why the Youth Public Environmental Organization “Our Home – Manyava” is launching the initiative "Natural Heritage of Ivano-Frankivsk Region: Nature Conservation Areas".We aim to systematize open information about the region’s Nature Reserve Fund sites and gradually complement it with short explanations, local names, stories, community observations, and educational and civic initiative materials.
This database is not an official state register and does not replace official sources. Its purpose is to help users find relevant sites more quickly, understand their nature conservation status, key characteristics, and potential significance for the local community, education, local history, recreation, and nature conservation.
The catalog is being developed gradually. If a particular site is not yet included in the database, this does not mean that it has no nature conservation, ecological, educational, or local value. Some information may require additional verification from official sources, open data, or local community knowledge.
