Carpathian Resilience Initiative

Carpathian Initiative for Environmental Resilience and Community Development

Carpathian Resilience Initiative

The initiative aims to systematically enhance environmental resilience in the Ivano-Frankivsk region through the development of environmental education, ecosystem restoration, and strengthening the capacity of local communities
The initiative has strong potential for scaling across other mountain regions.

Why It Matters?

The Carpathian region is increasingly impacted by climate change, with declining water resources, degrading ecosystems, and rising risks of natural disasters. These challenges directly affect the quality of life of local communities and their capacity to adapt to changing conditions.

Our approach

We work based on an integrated approach that brings together:
📘environmental education
🌿 ecosystem restoration
🏡 community development and health
🤝 creating systemic and long-term change.

Partnerships

We collaborate with international donors and partners who support community development and environmental initiatives, and we are open to new partnerships

Our expected impact (2026–2028)

Expected impact (first 2–3 years of implementation)
1000+ children and youth will be engaged in environmental programs
20+ environmental initiatives will be implemented
500+ residents in target communities will gain improved access to services, with strong potential for further scaling
