The Youth Public Environmental Organization “Our Home – Manyava” has completed the development of the Carpathian Resilience Initiative strategy.
The initiative is designed to systematically strengthen environmental resilience in the Ivano-Frankivsk region by developing environmental education, restoring ecosystems, and supporting communities. The Carpathian region is undergoing significant changes: water resources are declining, ecosystems are degrading, and the risks of natural disasters are increasing. These challenges directly affect the quality of life and the ability of communities to adapt to changing conditions.
The strategy defines three key areas of work: environmental education for children and youth, restoration of natural resources and ecosystems, and support for community development and improved quality of life. These areas are intentionally integrated into a single approach to ensure non-fragmented actions and sustainable, long-term impact.
“This strategy is not just a document, but a roadmap for preserving the unique nature of the Carpathians while supporting the development of local communities in the context of climate change,” the team of “Our Home – Manyava” notes.
We also view this initiative as a scalable model that can be replicated in other mountain regions. You can explore the full strategy on our website in both Ukrainian and English.
